I was skeptical at first because so many “defining” brushes do absolutely nothing for my curls, but this one? A game-changer. The design is genius it lifts at the roots without frizzing everything up, and the way it separates hair and adds curls? Chef’s kiss. I love using it on wash days for that extra curls, and it’s been amazing for refreshing my hair on day two or three.

I am an American born Chinese with naturally curly hair. My hair is a mix of 2c and 3a, high porosity and low density. I literally spent the first 3 decades of my life hating my frizzy hair, surrounded with Chinese relatives all with straight hair and telling me to “just brush your hair.” I felt so alone and ugly :( I spent my teens and early 20s flat ironing my hair until it had too much heat damage! I finally decided to learn how to care for my curly hair. It’s been a journey of trying different hair products, tools, and styling techniques. And I can say from the thousands of $ I’ve spent, this brush is one my top tools (aside from a satin cap for sleep). It defines my curls better than the Denman brush! One tip: after my dripping wet hair has product (leave-in, foam, gel), I brush each small section horizontally and outward once to smooth the frizz, then a 2nd time vertically to define the curls. (Hope that makes sense) My Asian girlfriends are now jealous of my beautiful curls! (Another tip! Hair mask every week! Do it! It’ll make your hair so strong! Even when I work out in the mornings with a ponytail, the curls still stay intact because they are so healthy!)

I am incredibly low maintenance because I squeeze in a gym session most mornings, so I give myself exactly 20 min to get ready every day before work (including shower). I needed to simplify my already quick hair routine. This brush creates such nice curl clumps with little effort. The photo accompanying my review shows my hair about 80% air dried in windy 20 degree winter weather, no product whatsoever, just styled with the mykova curl brush!!

I usually don’t write reviews, but here we are! This product is a miracle. I am a teacher and I don’t have time to spend forever styling my hair. With this brush it takes less than 10 minutes and your curls look AMAZING. I added some photos of before and after (mind it was very much time for a refresh) and I was SHOCKED. I didn’t diffuse after or anything, just air dry. I have convinced my sisters to buy them as well and even my friends. I was definitely persuaded by the ads and hoped it would even work somewhat similar. It does. Would recommend to anyone especially those who don’t have time to spend forever styling!

I am not great at defining or finger coiling my natural hair. I saw an ad for this brush and decided it couldn’t hurt. This was one of the best purchases I made lately! I took my time after detangling and my curls were so defined after using this brush! I’ve never been happier to find a tool that actually does what it says. You won't be disappointed with this brush!

I bought this brush for myself last week, and I do NOT regret it. For awhile, I was hesitant on buying it just because of the price, but now I wish I got it sooner cause it makes such a difference to my hair. The box itself was so cute, it truly felt like a little gift. It literally forms my curls so pretty. I'm still learning what kind of curls I have but I know that this brush has helped them stand out and form better. Plus, it is so soft! The bristles don't hurt, and I love the comb feature.
